El Bethel shares our worship space with us every Sunday afternoon. El Bethel International Ministries is an independent, registered 501(c)(3), Christ centered, non-denominational church with a deep passion and love for God and His people. We are also a Cooperative Church with the General Council and the New York District Assemblies of God and are in fellowship with saints of, "like precious faith." 2 Peter 1:1
During our services, through the compassionate touch and healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ, many precious people who are broken, wounded, hurting, hungry, sick, dying, lost and lonely find hope, restoration, healing and eternal life. ELBIM Church also exists to equip believers to love people the way Jesus loves them. We follow His example in showing His love in action by teaching His Word to all nations and by helping the afflicted and oppressed, just as He did when He walked on this earth.
Our ministry is one that is: charitable, evangelistic, instructive, prophetic and restorative. We exist to show the love of Jesus through compassionate care for the needy and to revive and strengthen the Church of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18, 19
Port Jervis' Community Liaison, Patty Baughman, uses St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for her office space as well as many of her events that she puts on for the community. The Port Jervis Community Liaison acts as a Community Events Coordinator. Each year over 20 outreach events are organized to bring educational workshops that would engage the people of Port Jervis. She also acts as a personal advocate for those in need of social services.
We also host a Head Start Center here at our Church! Head Start supports the comprehensive development of children in the learning centers and in their own homes. Development-focused services include:
Early Learning – Teachers facilitate individualized learning experiences to promote children’s readiness for school and beyond. Through planned and spontaneous instruction, relationships with adults, and play, children grow in language and literacy, early math and science concepts, and social and emotional development.
Health – Children receive health and development screenings, nutritious meals, oral health and mental health support. Programs connect families with medical, dental, and mental health services, and ensure that children are receiving the services they need.
Family well-being – Parents and families are supported in achieving their own goals, such as housing stability, continued education, and financial security. Programs support and strengthen parent-child relationships and engage families around children’s learning and development.
