Chili Cook-Off, Saturday, March 1, (snow date, March 8) 11:00 AM-2:00 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 31 West Main Street, Port Jervis.  $5 per person tasting of all chili; $2.50 eat-in or take out bowl of chili.  Awards given out at 1:30.  No entry fee to enter the contest, but registration is required.  Contact Kurt Brink at kurt.brink@hotmail.com for registration forms. Limited to 20 entries; register early!  Proceeds benefit church ministry to the community.

   Emily Hamilton was our guest preacher on Reconciling in Christ Sunday, January 26th, and our third anniversary as an RIC Congregation. Thank you, Emily, for your wonderful sermon, and your gift of worshiping with us!

    Hamilton is a member and former employee of Reconciling Works, an independent, Lutheran organization that promotes full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the Lutheran community. She is a graduate of Vassar College and spent two years as a member of the Lutheran Volunteer Corps. She has started both the process to become a Lutheran pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and graduate school at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York.
